Bhubaneswar: Just a few hours after the Cabinet expansion, Chief Minister allocated portfolios to new Ministers and reshuffled some of the portfolios.

 

The newly-appointed Cabinet Minister Maheswar Mohanty was given the Panchayati Raj portofolio. It was held by Prafulla Samal. Pradip Maharaty was allocated the Agriculture portfolio, which was held with Damodar Rout earlier.

 

Anjali Behera, who was elevated to the Cabinet rank, was given the crucual Women & Child Development portfolio. The post was vacant after the resignatioin of Mrs. Pramila Mallick.

 

Former Deputy Speaker Lal Bihari Himirika was allocated the SC & ST Development portfolio, while Usha Devi was given two portfolios - Textiles & Handlooms and Science & Technology. Niranjan Pujari was given the Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare portfolio.

 

The Forest & Environment portfolio, which was held with the Chief Minister was allocated to Debi Prasad Mishra. Surprisingly, some other Ministers with tainted image managed to hold on to their portfolios.
